Sebring changes character for a week each March, when the 12 Hours of Sebring sports-car race takes place and thousands of auto-racing fans descend upon the city. When there are no races, the Sebring International Raceway is used to prepare NASCAR drivers for their upcoming races, and two racing schools use the track for their students. In October, another major race – the Historic Fall Classic – draws over three hundred cars and thousands of people to Sebring.
