About Margate

Located in Broward County, Margate is a suburb of the greater Fort Lauderdale-Miami area. Initially planned as a city of 35,000, today nearly twice that call the area home. And it's no wonder, either – Margate is near all of the excitement of South Florida. Margate also has some excitement of its own to offer, with thoroughbred racing, water parks, and, of course, lots and lots of golf courses. The city hosts a series of events and celebrations all year round, including the Winter Solstice Celebration, the Fourth of July parade, and the Margate Golf Classic.
